Morris Community YMCA

Since opening in January 2015 in downtown Morris, the YMCA has become a bustling center of activity for residents of all ages. Located in the former City Hall building at 320 Wauponsee Street in downtown Morris, the YMCA features state-of-the-art fitness and strength-training equipment, multi-purpose rooms, locker rooms and dedicated community space. Each month, thousands of members visit the facility to exercise, take fitness classes, attend youth programs or participate in activities for seniors. In addition, hundreds of participants are involved in programs offered throughout the community, including the YMCA’s summer day camp programs in Morris and Coal City, countless sports camps, clinics and leagues and the YMCA’s JETS swim team. Through its unique partnership with Morris Hospital, the YMCA is dedicated to enhancing the health and wellness of Grundy County residents by providing community-based fitness and wellness programs. Most importantly, at the Y no one is ever turned away due to the inability to pay. Made possible by its generous donors, including the United Way of Grundy County, the Y’s scholarship program ensures that Y programs are available to all.
